OUR ANIMATED VERSION

This is the animated version of our opening sequence. Aaron has done the drawing of the sequences, Katusha has done the filming and I (Janesia) have done the editing of the sequence. I added some sound track to make the opening sequence more interesting and to create more suspense. They are still some extra shots that will still be added, but this gives a clear idea of what our film is about and gives the audience an idea on what will be happening in the film.

I added  some transitions to make our clip more effective. For example I added cross dissolve to show the conversation between the two people in the shot reverse shot. There is also 'wash in' at times to show represent flash backs and 'fade out' to suggest time as past.

However what we need to work on, is to be aware of  props and other things that may be around while filming. for instance in one of the shots, in the near corner there was finger. this affect the shot as it takes away to professionalism and suspense that is supposed to be made in shot.

The Treatment

The plot of the film is about a proclaimed priest who at first seems like the protagonist in the film later then turns out to be the antagonist. the antagonist is a corrupt priest who tries to posses peoples mind and body through his sacred oath that he has, the oath is what has made the priest what he is today.

The victim we see in the sequence is consciously aware of his actions but leads into temptation as his lust for women gets the better of him and tragically rapes a woman in a alley way, he then realizes his wrong doing and turns to the priest for guidance.

The sequence starts with a zoom of the cross on the church then straight into the confession where the priest and the victim are in together, it then jumps to a flash back of when the victim commits his sin, through the flash back we see the victims emotions and thoughts as he makes his way to the church, it then cuts back to the scene where it started with the priest claiming that he can help and makes the victim write  the oath to sell his mind body and soul becoming possessed and tramped within the priest.

The unique selling point of this film is that the conspiracy/religious thriller is not often used so people may find it worth watching as they have not experienced it yet.

Through out the sequence there will be POV shots of the priest looking down at the victim and also low angle shots to show the victims inferiority, the narrative of the film is non-linear because of the flash backs and also referring to the past of what the victim done to the woman.

The Oath auditions

The audition for the thriller.
Jesse auditioning for the part of 'Father Literian.'
Aaron auditioning for the part of Mark (The Suspect).
There is a short filming of the two playing their characters. We think this is a good audition because they capture the right characters.

Possible fonts for the thriller

this may be a possible font because it is as bold as the word i keeps the audience attention.
this font may be used because it is a unusual font which creates an enigma code for the film as in what the oath is.

this was chosen because it seems quite aggressive just like one of the actors in the film.
this font was selected because of its snugged nature and uncertainty

We have selected various different fonts that will go well with the thriller, i have chosen these fonts because they all go well with the title 'The Oath' which helps create meaning for the film as it is a conspiracy/religious thriller.

ABOUT THE FILM

The narrative is going to be linear, however there is going to be a flash back in the opening sequence. this makes it non linear. The whole film is going to be about a guy that has committed a murder of a young woman. He then feels guilty and paranoid of what he has done. Using his instincts he feels that he should confess to someone, so he decides to go to a priest and confesses. unknowingly to him the priest has an evil side to him and he lures his victim into making them think they are actually signing over for a better life, but they are actually signing over their soul to the devil. this conspiracy, psychological thriller starts off as a simple murder, with the killer being the antagonist however, he will then fall into a protagonist character and it would be him begging for his life.

Audience response to typical thriller

This is the public's response to what they think a typical thriller should include. We interviewed six different people and they gave their response. Most of their view's were the same, blood, suspense and a good story line.
